Not all peel off face masks have to be latex rubber or melted paraffin wax. One can be made at home with simple gelatin.
Masks have been used for a long time, but for the most part we think of only getting one at a spa. And when we do use one at home it is the clay masks that are used for the most part. Thinking that the peel off face masks are too complicated and costly. But these masks have the same added benefits as other masks removing dead skin cells, and temporarily increase the skins moisture content. So treat yourself to one of these simple peel off masks that will come off in one piece after drying.
How this Peel Off Face Masks Work
Either from the store or made at home recipes these masks will work the same way. Both are applied to the skin in a gel or liquid form and allowed to dry. When the mask is peeled off along with the mask the dulling dead skin, dirt and oil comes with it.
Starting by placing a warm wet washcloth on your skin before the mask for 15 minutes. This will help in opening up pores so the peel-off mask can unclog pores and get any oily blockages that are in the skin. When the mask is peeled off these substances are lifted off as well.

Gelatin and Juice or the GJ recipes. Now if you get to busy and can not get back to the mask in the end you will have dessert. It is the same recipe for jell-o. All you need is plain gelatin and a juice. Now the juice fruit or vegetable can make a big difference to this type of peel off face mask. Now when you make up a batch of this recipe it will only be good for a limited time. If Left to long in the frig it will become a snack it is only good for cosmetic use when it is in the gel state. For this recipe all you will need is the plain gelatin. As for the juice you will choose one for the type of skin you have and what effect on your skin you would like.
Recipe for a peel off face maask
All you will need is one tablespoon of gelatin and one half cup of juice.
In a heat resistant bowl place the juice and sprinkle the gelatin on top and mix it in. Place it in the microwave and heat it up untile the gelatin disperses completely into the juice. Then place the bowl into the frig untile the mix starts to become firm. This should take 20 to 30 minutes. It should be a thick consistency, but not at the set up stage. At this pint you have your gel mask to use. This also makes up a great gift basket for the girls. 2 or 3 boxes of plane gelatin, 2 or 3 small containers of juice, a washcloth, and a face cream. Or have a spa party!!!

For Dry Skin
Most beginners suffering from dry skin prefer apple juice, both because it is easy to buy and because the excess can always be drank. The fruit juices are good because thay help eat away at the dry skin with out drying out the skin. Now for you that have a juicer you have all kinds of choices. After you make up your juice be sure to strain off just the juice pulp free. Other good fruits are raspberry, papaya, pear, and peach juices are also highly beneficial for dry skin.
For Oily Skin
If you have oily skin, you will appreciate the effects of a fruit juice capable of restoring the skin's natural acid mantle and getting rid of excess oils. The most effective fruit juice for these benefits is lemon juice. If you use lemon juice be sure to mix it with water or another juice because it has to much citric acid in it. Also grapefruit and lime juice work well. Also be extremely careful to avoid the delicate eye area when applying your peel off face mask.

Keep these recommendations in mind
Do not use your masks more than once every three days unless your skin is very oily. When theses masks are used to much your skin can get over exfoliated. When using the mask only put on a thin layer so that it will not take all day to dry. Also aviod the eyes, eyebrows, hairline and any other areas where it will be hard to remove the mask. You will know when it it is time to remove the mask when to no longer feels tacky. Then just peel off the mask and through it away. Splash your face with cool water to tighten your pores and remove any left over mask.
